This would be why they'd need to process AOS more slowly -- to allow for more time to build up proof of the relationship AFTER the marriage certificate, and why an interview would be necessary, because there's no one document (like a marriage certificate) that shows a continuation of the relationship AFTER entry into the US.

Did that clarify what I was saying about why k-1 but not k-3?

I don't really know if it really works like that but for me it is hard to believe that the reason why the AOS process for K-3s is so slow is that they give us more time to build up proof of relationship after marriage.

Other than a shared bank account and me being added to his sam's club membership we don't really have anything yet. We cannot put me into the papers for the rent since there are no such papers as a contract between my husband and our landlords (childhood friend's family).

So, I am not worried about proving our relationship after the marriage. I just want to demonstrate that even if we live here for another year we won't have the rent papers in our names.

Your point is just hard to believe for me.

Jan 18'07 - Greencard in Mail (dated Jan 12'07)
