Hi all,

I have a very unique situation....My father is transgendered and I believe he could possibly be going by his female name. Would I put his male name or his female name? Thank you for all your help.

Aug 11, 2018 (Day 6): Recvd notification that Biometrics appointment scheduled       Oct 17, 2019 (Day 17) : Received Passport

Aug 13, 2018 (Day 8): Received biometrics appt letter online                                        Oct 21, 2019 (Day 21) : Received Naturalization Cert. back

Aug 28, 2018 (Day 23): Biometrics Appt

May 06, 2019 (Day 274): In Line For Interview

Jun 11, 2019 (Day 311): Interview Date

July 01, 2019 (Day 327) : Oath Ceremony I AM NOW A US CITIZEN!!!!

In what possible way are you "unique" You have a father, your father has a name. WOW! How special!

what is your father's name? Enter it.

Chris, I agree with the person who said just go with whatever the legal name is that way if you will need documentation for anything, you will be able to provide it.

12/23/2010- Met in person in Kenya

02/01/2011- Visited him in China

02/14/2011- He proposed while I was in China

07/09/2011- Moved to China to be with him

12/19/2011- Went to US to meet his family

01/08/2012- Went back to China with him

02/29/2012- Went back to Kenya to await fiancee visa :-(

I am shocked by the rude response to this topic posted above.

I agree in posting your father's legal name. Perhaps it would be worth attaching a letter clarifying the situation? Best of luck to you!!!

If your father has already legally changed names then use the new one. If the legal name change hasn't happened yet then use the old one. If your father has a new name and there is a place that asks for other names use document ALL names that have been used.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
