Hello!

My fiance has his K-1 medical tomorrow and his visa interview next Monday. I really appreciate everyone's help as we went through the process - you've all been SO helpful! I just hope he has all he needs to get approved on the spot :) We've reviewed every checklist we could find and he made 2 copies of everything.

It shows the DHL location closest to his house on the CSC website (when we first log in) - so hopefully that's all we need to do?

Any other tips/advice?

I'll make sure to send an update when we have one. Fingers crossed!!

Regarding DHL: yep, that's all you need to do unless you want them to deliver it to his house specifically (add an extra 2 days to the delivery time, and I believe it costs extra.) Unless the DHL branch is really far away it's easier to just pick it up :)

I'm sure he'll be fine! Did he review the security procedures for the consulate? No cell phones, electronics, large bags etc. are allowed inside.

Good luck

Be prepared and breathe :)

Everything will be fine, and don't forget to go pick up your medical ahead of time. He might be asked a couple questions like how you met, when you got engaged, if he or you visited, and that's about it. I remember I was a stress bag and could barely sleep the night before... soon it'll be over

I found the K1 interview to be the easiest part of the entire process so far. :) Everyone told me to relax for days before the interview and I always thought "Sure, easier said than done" ... but everyone was absolutely right. Have all your paperwork and it's honestly a breeze to get through.

Definitely! He's planning to pick up his medical stuff on Friday. The most annoying part is that he has to be there Tuesday-Monday because of the timing. Luckily, the Canadiens play the Wild (my home team) and the Maple Leafs while he's there - so that should keep him busy.

Thank you, all! You're very sweet - and the reassuring words are much appreciated :)

Also, KT - I'm right there with you on the LDR front. We've been apart for 3 years (except for a few trips here and there). I'm so grateful we're almost done with this part of our life!

The interview is the easiest step in this process... I found it helpful reading the reviews, it kind of eased my mind knowing what to expect! Here is a link to the review page... http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Canada&page=9&dfilter=5

I hear ya! I'm trying to make a trip down every 2-3 months, whenever work can let me go for a week or long weekend... but I *reallllly* can't wait for this part of our lives to be over too!
