Hi, after few initial problems with filing my AOS due to underpayment of fees we finally received NOA 1 and the online system shows accepted, however the case has been on the "acceptance" stage for a month and a half now, is this common? I thought from what I have read the BIO appointment was typically set up within a few weeks of receipt of the AOS packet, I'm kind of worried and hope to have the green card before the summer is over, is this an issue I need to look into?

Whilst the online tracker is useful it is not the most reliable gauge of what is happening with your case. The dates of the hard copies are what should be noted. If you received your letter just recently then your bio appt. will be coming. If it has been 8 weeks, I would call the helpline but really, like the K1 it will be a bit of luck that gets it done quickly...

We got the bio about 4-5 weeks from NOA1 (NOA was in early Dec '11; for AOS) and EAD+AP in hand about 1 month later (early Feb). But in between we got a notice saying our GC case was moved to CSC due to heavy load in the center where it was getting processed.

Perhaps you should get an Infopass to follow up, or at least call the number in NOA1 to follow up.

Normally you get the bio letter within two weeks of the NOA1. If you go over 30 days after the NOA1 date without getting the bio letter, you can call and get them to send a service request. Usually this results in getting your bio letter shortly after, but not always. We went through this and had the bio letter within a week of our service request. Someone else here recently had to request the bio letter twice. Once you get the bio appointment letter, some centers allow you to come in and get your bio taken before the appointment date. Look for others here going to the same local office to see if you can in your location. Good luck
