I've never heard of that program. That doesn't mean anything, just that I can't help you on that part.

As for extending stay on a student visa (I assume F-1), the most common way to do this is as follows:

1. Graduate with an MBA.

2. Apply for OPT. It allows you to work for 12 months in your field of study.

3. Do a good job while working on OPT, and the company may sponsor you for an H-1b visa. Shows you to work for that employer, and can be extended up to 5 years.

None of the program lets you work full time and study part time.

why not ? thats what the agent in Egypt told me

To the best of my knowledge, no visa class allows you to work full time and study part time.

F-1 allows you to study full time and work part time if the job is on campus.

The only possible situation in which a student can legally work full time while studying part time is a student in senior year with a financial hardship waiver.

A student with less than a full time course of study left can study part time. Only a student who can prove financial hardship due to unexpected circumstances outside the student's control may work full time and off campus. But that's a long shot.

You may work on campus full time during holidays and summer semester if you're on a student visa.

Why? It's current US immigration law.

I read through the link you gave me. It seems like it's referring to CPT, Curricular Practical Training. While studying in the US on an F-1 visa, you may then work a job directly related to your major as part of your education.

This is considered part of your education, not technically a «job.»

I'm unsure of the exact rules.

You can do CPT for a paid internship only if the internship is a part of the curriculum for your degree.

But I think if you do the CPT full time it gets deducted from your allowable OPT.

Unless you are studying one of the STEM degrees, in which case after the original 12 month OPT you can get a 17-month extension to your OPT.

After that, if your employer will sponsor you (and the quota has not been filled for that year or you are exempt from the cap) then yes, you can get H1B and continue working.

Just a thought.. have you spoken to the international student office at the university you chose?

The international student advisor at your schoool will be the one who ultimately takes care of all the paperwork to allow you to CPT/OPT/take classes/sign your I-20 etc.

So I would get a hold of that person if I were you!

Either way, good luck!

A interesting scam, work at McDonalds an get an MBA.

I wonder how long it will be before it ends in tears.

what's wrong with just going home after the masters program and the work program?

A student visa is designed so that you GO HOME AND apply what you've learned back in yer home country, in a fulfilling job that you've lined up during your summer breaks.

What's up ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Seriously - agents = bad. What type of fee structure is this agent looking for? What type of guarantees has this agent already promised??? Anyone selling the opportunity to study/work in the US in MENA countries or South Asia countries really, really doesn't have YOUR best interest in mind. Even if they helped your next door neighbor's cousin's sister-in-law get to Iowa - be very, very, very aware that the agent is really, really, really interested in only your money.
