Thank you!! Amen!

I expect the story is partially true but some material facts are missing that make the story irrelevant to your situation.

The story probably refers to somebody who married and then attempted to adjust status but left without advance parole. They were then denied entry when they attempted to come back. I doubt they were "arrested". Probably just sent back and required to start over with a spouse visa.

Either the story is false or there is more to it. US Law does NOT require a special visa to get married. Hundreds to thousands of destination marriages are performed in the USA every day.

So, let's DROP this story.

LOL thanks for clearing that up.

It's worth mentioning that if you have another sort of UK visa, such as a work visa, you may not also need a fiance or wedding visa. I am in possession of a Tier 2 work visa and when I married my husband in Aberdeen while on a business trip connected with that visa, the Scottish registrar had to call Edinburgh to make sure, but they said I was in fact covered for the wedding. I still had to provide the usual proof of identity and dissolution of previous marriages.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.
