DS 230?

I am confused is the DS-230 required or not? I have it ready to go just in case. But I had downloaded the Packet 3 & 4 October revision in the last 3 weeks and the DS 230 was not mentioned. However in the pdf emailed by the embassy it states:

SECOND: Fill-out the DS-156, DS-156K, and DS-230 (Part 1) visa applications. <-- This also purports to be part of the Oct 2011 Revised packet 3 & 4.

And to add to the confusion when I go to the link the DS230 form expires February 29. 2012... The appointment is on March 13th.

Anyone care to shed some light on this?

Moving from tourist visa to regional as its a regional question about fiance visa not a tourist visa question.

Hey guys!! We thought the same thing and I don't think it is required infact im almost positive its not, but we also have it just in case ONLY because the letter from the embassy says to fill it out. I guess it doesn't hurt. Oh and I also read somewhere that they will still except it if it's expired, but I guess I will have Federico print out the newest version with the new date after March 1st just to make sure. Hope that helps!

Hi Fede and Kendra,

Our thoughts exactly. Better safe than sorry. I have the DS230 ready to go and if a new version is available on March 1st I will complete it and have it ready. I am just surprised that they have 2 different variations of a document that was revised Oct 2011. Not only that. One of the versions has a link to the old DAS site for the "pasado judicial" and the other has a link to the new national police website. Thank God that we have this site to share information.
