I'm unclear about the biometrics, since it seem to me that they already took all the biometrics they could possibly need at the AOS. What is this all about and is it required for everyone? We are using the Vermont Service Center.

Biometrics must be taken if you have not had it done in 12 months. It is a whole new file whole new process you are going through so you need to have your background checked again.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I concur.

The biometrics you mentioned were for the AOS and it sure has been more than a year since you had them. That means they expired and you have to have fingerprints taken again for the ROC.

This is one of those "theirs not to reason why, theirs but to do and die" things about USCIS. Of course your fingerprints haven't changed over the course of the past two years. You still have to be printed all over again, though.

So my 90-day window to have my conditions removed starts in 2 weeks. As far as the fingerprints goes the USCIS website says you need to print this form and then have the fingerprints taken at 1 of 3 places (ie/ military facility).

Is it common to simply make an appointment at a USCIS service center and have the biometrics done there? Are the fingerprinting requirements the same thing as "biometrics"? And, can the service center print a copy of the fingerprints for you to include in the ROC package?

Thanks in advance guys. I got my greencard and haven't even thought about anything to do with this since, now I've checked the calendar and realized that I need to get onto this ROC situation and I am pretty rusty on all of the processes.

You should really start a question of your own in your own thread. Not someone elses.

Are you military? are you out of the country and filing ROC?

Basically if you are a regular person they book biometrics for you and you go when and where you are told. You don't book anything and you don't get to choose.

Seriously man? I specifically posted it in here because it's on the same topic and I didn't want to flood the forum with 20 posts on the exact same subject.

If that's the way it's typically done though then I will start my own.

And no I am in the US. So you send the ROC form in WITHOUT the fingerprints? And then they summon you?

Yes you just send the form and your supporting evidence with it and they will send you a notice for your appointment for biometrics to be taken.

Thanks for the responses. Is there anything else we need to do about the biometrics at the time we file the I-751 Package other than pay the fee? It sounds like from what I read they will contact us and give us an appointment. Is that correct?
