Hospital staff and plenty of other filipinas watching. I went inside St Luke's for my wife's sputum results and talked to the doctors and got to look around. It's a fairly safe environment, I wouldn't worry about the time separated, and one thing I have noticed about the Philippine culture is they seem to work things out amongst themselves easier without our two cents. lol The volume St Luke's is accustomed to, you can bet they have this issue at least a couple times a day.

Well said! :thumbs:

I just called Maria, about your question. At no time she had to leave her 7 year old daughter...They go through the process together. XRAYs the daughter had to step outside for just a moment.

BACKGROUND: My fiancee lives on Mindanao and will have to fly with her child to Manila for exams & interviews and will stay in a hotel while there.

My fiancee and her 5 y.o. son will be taking the St. Luke's medical exams sometime in the next few months. I figured that they'd both be doing them at the same time; he in the pediatric area and she in the adults area.

However, my fiancee texted me this morning that this may not be correct and she is concerned about leaving her child unattended while she undergoes her exam.

Can someone with experience taking a child to SLEC please chime in and explain what the process is actually like?

Thanks!

Seems like everyone has a different experience in this process - this is our experience from this week.

Logistic/Facts

We book our room through Asia Travel Hotels – Bayview Park Hotel that is located directly across the street from the Embassy and Saint Luke Medical Center. We received a better discount with the breakfast buffet then we could get from the hotel.

Ladies – you cannot get your physical if your having your monthly menstrual cycle. They will turn you away, and tell you to come back.

This is a two-day {non-consecutive} day process for a K1/K2 Visa

The entire process of waiting in line and back to our hotel room on the first day took approximately 6 hours.

The entire process of waiting in line and back to our hotel room on the send day took approximately 1.5 hours.

Day 1 (Tuesday)

Physical

TB test {tuberculosis skin test}

We arrived at the Medical Center on Tuesday around 5:15 am and there were at least 35 people in front of us.

Medical Center rejected our passport/visa pictures because of our current hairstyle. {How ever you look in your passport/visa picture is how you better look when you arrive} :yes:

Medical Center scheduled our next appointment two days later to read the TB test results and they will give us our vaccinations.

Day 2 (Thursday)

Results of the TB test

Vaccinations

Sealed Medical Records sent to the Embassy for the Monday Interview

:thumbs: Medical Cleared - on to the Interview {Monday}

The Fees:

US$213.35 for 15 year and older

US$185.35 for 14 year and below

Things they asked for:

1) They did ask for your new case number {Alien Case number}. MNL - we did not have it

2) Valid Passport (have it photocopied as well)

3) Appointment letter – Bring original and have the first 2 pages photo copied.

4) 4 pictures. 2x2 photos – {Near the Embassy a business that specialize in VISA/Passport pic.}

5) {NICE TO HAVE} Online Registration form already filled out.

6) Black pen

my original plan was 5days before my interview and stay manila at least 9days for medical and interview,i'm from mindanao area its hassle and expensive to fly to manila but i ended up having my medical 2 weeks before interview cuz that week before interview was my menstrual cylce/monthly period schedule and i dont want to mess around cuz you can't complete medical if you have it they will tell you to come back after your monthly period..i did figured out its expensive to stay longer in manila so what i did was i flew twice in manila for medical and interview..during medical we stayed 4days and during interview we stayed 3days..9 days is enough for medical and interview.what particular province or city is your fiancee?

My fiancee is on Mindanao. We're hoping that she and her son can start the medical on a Monday and be done by Wednesday, giving 2 days for the results to get to the embassy for a Friday interview. We don't want to have to fly both of them up there twice just to get the interview done.

First come - first serve for her medical appointment - You might be able to get everything done in one week ? Put I decided to give her a few extra days, just in case she needed something.

Monday (Physical)

Wednesday (Physical results)

Friday (CFO) Commission on Filipinos Overseas

Monday (Interview Scheduled) and passed
