Hey guys. I know I am a little late in this thread, but my wife's I-130 was recently approved after 5 months and 1 week. Looks like Maryam's was just slightly longer. So Jason, if you follow the same pattern as us, you could hear something in early August. It could also be sooner or later but most likely you will hear something by then. After that it's not such a painful waiting game; it's a lot more proactive. You will wait a bit for the case number at the NVC but it's a piece of cake compared to the i-130  Good luck to you both!

Hello, I was wondering if I could get some help understanding the affidavit of support for Indonesia specifically. At this current point in time, I can't get my fiancee to the United States by myself, so I need somebody in my family to co-sponsor on the affidavit of support. Will Indonesia allow the co-sponsorship?

Greetings,

I had a Chinese Wedding in Indonesia which is not registered. It was basically a Commitment Ceremony. Because of this I am planning on filing a K1 Visa. What do I need to do so the the USCIS does not think that I am filing the wrong type of Visa since the Indonesia Government still considers her "single"?

Affidavit of support is USA document. Not a matter of Indonesian acceptance.

If you are below poverty guidelines. Get a co-sponsor. You will be fine.

I do not have much knowledge of office of civil registry. I presume you didn't register your ceremony.

Not sure how uscis would feel about that. Essentially you guys performed 90% of marriage but not all of it.....

Can anyone tell us whether Jakarta embassy send out Packet 3 via postal or email? If they send via email, do they send to petitioner or beneficiary? Thank you in advance.
