Hello there fellow VJ members,

I am a new member on this forum, though I have been visiting it from time to time over the last couple months. My significant other and I have been discussing filing for the K-1 visa now that we have been together for almost 4 years. Over the past 4 years, I have waited for the day when we would be done with school and could focus on moving to be with each other. Now that he will be graduating in June, we decided it is time that we make this change in our lives. :)

He is from the Netherlands and I am from Oklahoma. We met by chance online through an art website called DeviantART in April of 2007 when I made a 'comment' on one of his photos. When I made that comment all those years ago, I never could have imagined that it would have led to this. In October of 2007, we came forward of our feelings. Those feelings would continue to grow until August 2008, when I got on an airplane (for the first time ever) and flew half-way across the world by myself to meet him for the very first time and spend 9 days together. Since then we have met about every 4 months (our visits ranging from 1-3 months).

Our last visit just ended last week as he returned home to finish up his graduation project for school. So here I am spending every waking minute on VJ learning all I can to get this process started. I am expecting to file for the K-1 a month from now once I get everything together and make more preparations. I am more excited than ever knowing we finally have a plan. ^__^

I'm hoping to get to know fellow couples and follow you all through your visa journeys as well as sharing mine.

Tori

Congrats and good luck. There is a ton of helpful information on VisaJourney. I's suggest doing a search for other VJ members that the beneficiary is from the Netherlands and get in touch with them. Get tips, advice, etc.

Enjoy!
