i saw that form but the thing is we didnt send the aos petition yet, we're sending it next week. we put the adress where we live on the form but we cant get mail here . putting another adress on the form just to get the mail there woul;d be a lie and i saw no option for the notofications to be sent at another adress. the form online seems to be just for pending applicants

Use your physical address along with the PO BOX. For example:

Joe Doe

123 Main St.

P. O. Box 3456

Anytown, State USA

The post office will deliver to the PO Box as that is what our company address is. You can then go to the postoffice to make certain items addressed to your physical address go to the PO Box--just in case. I do not understand why the AOS forms do not have the mailing address fields like the ROC and Naturalization forms do. Another option is to place a vacation hold on your mail and pick it up every week and keep the hold in place until the USCIS mail arrives--I know it is a pain but I was going to do that when we moved, but fortunately the AOS was completed before we moved.

Good Luck,

Dave

thank you :D one more question. the PO box we wanna use is my mom's in law and she lives in the next town about 50 miles away from us. wont that become suspicious to uscis? also is it ok to add a suplement to the cover letter or petition explaning the mail problem? i saw someone using the PO box in the C/O space on the aos form. i dunno if thats right or not

Given the different cities and all that, I would put her name and the PO BOX, city and state in the C/O space. I still wonder why the AOS forms do not have the difference between physical address and mailing address, but the ROC and naturalization do. I find that very strange theat USCIS has not standerized--oh wait this is a goverment agency...never mind  .

Put "c/o [mother-in-law's name], P.O. Box ___ ..."

Absolutely include a letter to explain the mail situation. Communication is everything in this process. Furthermore, including such a letter covers your behinds if USCIS messes up and claims that information was returned as undeliverable.

Finally, notify the postmaster at your mom-in-law's Post Office that you're infrequently expecting mail from the government. Ask the postmaster to notify the postal staff (who stuff the P.O. boxes) of your situation, so that they deliver the mail and don't send it back as "addressee unknown." Make a note of your meeting or conversation with the postmaster -- date, time, what was said -- and keep it with your immigration papers, "just in case." Provide the postal employees with your maiden name and married name, if it applies.

Just to let you know I have a similar problem and felt the same way as you and listened to the advice to put our (and not even someone else's) Po box in the c/o box and they still sent it to our house and it was a huge mess to fix it!!!! In the end I had to change our address with them to the po box and they didn't even care to know where we live only where they can send mail to us.

I will recommend to put only the po box and make sure your mother in law adds your name and your husband's to the list of people receiving mail to that po box (at her post office- she needs to file a little form) asap so your mail would be delivered there. It's the worst thing if they mess up and you can't get their letters. Believe me it was a pain in the rears and it delayed everything for me! and it's so hard to communicate with them afterwards the people on the customer service are not helpful at all and do not understand what you want from them.

you can attach a note that you live in this address but can only get mail to the po box, but on the actual forms just put the po box because they do not bother to care about the details.

did you send them an explanation letter attached to the aos form? the post office knows about us i think my mom in law already did that cause we like to order stuff online and usps always sends the mail and packages there. i thought about putting our po box adress there but we dont live in the post office :/
