Am so sorry for what happened to you.My heart breaks for you and i want to tell you that go through with what you are doing and when you get the result you want i will be happy for you.But if you don't just know that you are better off without him because what you need is true love and someone who feels the same as you feel. You heart is better off loving someone who feels the same back to you.You should not stress to love someone it just has to come out straight from you heart and know that there is someone out there who will love and go crazy about you.have faith and know God is with you in the hard times and you will be fine.He knows not what he has lost he will find out later and then it will be too late God be with you and bless you. He is the greatest loser not you.he just left for the one who truly deserve you.God knows what is good for us be strong and don't give up and may God himself heal you wounds.

I guess that the breaking point was when he had his friend confront me and tell me that I'm a crazy ###### if I thought any Dominican man would love an ugly gringa like me.

As we say in France, the guy who told you that must have sausage skin in front of his eyes!!

You know you're a very beautiful woman, right? You shouldn't let this bullsh#t hurt you!

Right now just think of protecting yourself and your family. Don't ever get together with him alone. File for divorce asap. Change your email password and print out the messages you received from his family. Send all his mail back to sender.

When you get divorced, he would have to file for removing conditions on his resident status immediately. With an ICE report for fraud, there's no way he'll be granted an unconditionnal resident status.

I don't even know how to go about filing for this divorce by I want to ASAP. I read that divorces in DR are not recognize here in the states. So how in the world would I do this? It's so messy and horrible and I can tell this nightmare will not be ending anytime soon. Im so lost ;(

Thank you and I hear everything you're saying. That stamp was like the best gift ever given to me other than having my children. I thought I'd be able to show him what a good wide I was and we'd have an awesome future together.

I'd love answers as to why he did this. Why he chose me to do this to. And I know I'll never get those answers which breaks my heart even more.

Thanks and I'm definitely following through. I'm so sad and my mind is unclear but I know what's best and what needs to be done. The hardest part was calling ICE because at that point I knew there was no turning back. I hope they will see the lies and deceit from him and that I don't lose that battle also.

This is concerning. This means he has most likely made some sort of report. There is no way to know what except if you were to go to the police and ask under what grounds would police escort you to a residence you were sharing with a partner to remove your belongings.

Do not call or message him excessively (accuse you of harassment). File for divorce immediately with a restraining order (he arrived with the cops and his stuff is gone, the fight you had, and you have kids to worry about). Update ICE and USCIS letting them know that you have filed for divorce. I would suggest you try filing under grounds of "fraud" is possible. He may fight it if you do though.

**Edit - I'm not sure what the texts say... they aren't from him are they? They're from his family asking you not to report him for fraud.. do they suggest they KNOW it's fraud or only suggesting that they're trying to reason with you for "irrationally accusing him of fraud"? Hopefully they are good enough that they take it as proof of HIS fraud, rather than just his family's fraud.

He just went to them and said he wanted to leave my house and needed assistance with getting his belongings. But the officer had no idea about the specifics. I filled him in on that and asked him if there was a report I could pick up showing he had been there.

The texts gone on for hours. They say that I shouldn't believe it was fraud, that he loves me so much and that I need to work things out with him. Then, they must have communicated with him in the meantime and he said he absolutely did not want to be with me. So that's when they offered money. Then the last message begs me not to call immigration the he's leaving, they promise.

I didn't say it earlier because I'm truly humiliated by this but he actually raised his hand to hit me the night he left. I almost wished he did so I could have called the cops. Unfortunately my kids had to hear this. I feel guilty I exposed them to such a con artist.

Hi Sam,

I am so so so sorry it has come to this. You are a beautiful woman inside and out and don't let anyone convince you differently. As others have written already, you did not wrong. If he took it to dark place that's on him. I hate him for what he has put you and your family through. You will get through this, but it will be hard, but you will get through this. And when you do, you should sue him for a divorce for the business you say he owned back in DR. The business is yours...and I would grind it to dust. But you are not me. You're a nice woman wouldn't dare react as I. I, like you, are full of love but even when hurt I can do battle. I will pray for you and yours. Each day will be better and brighter and you can thank God this parasitic animal is out of your life.

Thanks. I honestly want no ties to DR at all. 5 years ago I would have looked for some legal revenge but at this point in my life I've learned that Karma handles things much nicer ;) I'm very grateful he's gone even though certain moments are difficult.

You're going to file for divorce in the US. Don't worry, no need for you to go to DR or anything like that. It would probably be wise for you to get a lawyer now and have him help you go through the divorce process.

And since he threatened to hit you, you should try to get a restraining order.

It's gonna be over very, very soon.

This is so good to know. I was sooooo worried about having to go back there and face him in a court. I'm going to look into finding a lawyer tomorrow.

You are a very lovely lady both inside and out and that's why he chose you. Seems like you went into this with an open heart and mind. That is they type of women these fraudsters prey upon. This is his problem not yours. Unfortunately, many of these guys are desperate to get out of the hell hole they are living in and they don't care who they have to trample to do it. Just use this as a learning lesson and move on with your life. He isn't worth your tears. Good luck to you and when your heart heals, may you find someone who appreciates you for you.
