Hell even sell T-shirts.
I saw some in a "pulga" (heavily Hispanic flea market) across town that said, in English and Spanish, "Relax, Gringo -- I'm LEGAL!" I was hot to buy one for young Mini-Bone, but Mrs. T-B. put the kibosh on that, si man and no man.

Maybe a variant of that shirt could be created that says "I'm Legal, thanks to VisaJourney, si man," si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

If a sub forum is getting asked the questions then maybe someone could make a thread explaining the process going moving to that country. Then a mod can sticky the thread. Can even name the stickied thread something where search engines can take anyone interested and looking. That would bring traffic to this site and increase revenue a tad. Not to mention bringing the profile of the site up more.

Or I have seen other sites that have forums that was for immigration to a particular country. The example from before thaivisa.com. You can maybe link to them and they will link to you. Hell even have someone make a thread and join from another visa site. That would create an avenue for both sites to increase in several ways.

You can also do a franchise of Visa Journey's. Make a site called Visa Journey France or whatever country. The branding is pretty good and can be enlarged many fold. Hell even sell T-shirts. I may buy one that says "I survived my Visa Journey."

Wanted to add. You need a catchy logo. Maybe a contest to come up with one.

You could call it, "Wannabe_Expats.com"

Why would you move somewhere unless it was "better"?

Better is subjective. If you believe that government should take care of you, no matter how little you contribute to your own well being, you might think Europe is better. If you believe in getting the biggest bang for your own limited resources, you might look to live somewhere where a gallon of gasoline or a Royale with Cheese® doesn't cost around $10 each.

For sure. I could see myself living anyplace Asia outside of China.good.gif

So your decision to retire to the Philippines would be based on an affordable lifestyle?

That would be a major consideration, among other things. If cost of living was my only consideration, I would be living in Oklahoma, or Tennessee, instead of rural northern California, far away from the Pacific Coast, which I love. However, looking at the peaceful views of the Russian River valley and Mt. Jackson, that I have from the window to my right, beats most scenery I have seen in numerous places around the world.

I like to explore my options and be ready when opportunity presents itself.

It'd be lovely to have a view like that.

I read two other forums about expats returning to Britain to live. In nearly every case these people miss the verdant English countryside. When they finally return to their native country for good, one of the first things they report on is their first walk amongst it.

And their first return to a small town steeped in a thousand years of history.

And their first pint in their local.

So yeah, better is definitely subjective.

Not socialist.

ACtually, I'm thinking of living out my old age in England because even private healthcare is affordable and you can live without a car because you can get the bus most places for a few bucks ;0) Oh yeah, and they speak English, have low levels of corruption and first world living standards.
