I just read I need a 1000 dollars for this when does it get filed or better yet when is the latest I can wait

The earlier you get to it the better. Do not wait for your medical exam to expire before you file for AOS .If not you will have to cough out more money to redo the medicals & trust me it ain't cheap!!!

It's really a moot point for a married couple. Yes, a K3 entry needs to be followed by adjusting status but the chances of actually obtaining a K3 visa in the past two years have been about 1 in a million. The CR1 visa is what you a really chasing and there's not need to adjust status after entering with the CR1.

If you are not married, then this should be in the K1 forum, not K3. In that case, the sooner after marriage, you file the better, as you'll not be able to work until you do. (Unless you want to pay separately for work authorization and advance parole)

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

once in USA on a K-3 visa -

USUALLY one has 2 years to adjust status, to apply for a green card.

Are you truly on the K-3 path, or just confused about the CR-1 visa ?
