For the declaration of how we met in person within the last 2 years on the 129f, how long does this letter have to be? Do i have to write the uscis address on this letter as well? And how much should i describe. Can i say something like this? Does it sound ok? Thank you

Dear to whom it may concern,

i met my fiancee 2 years ago through some of our contact friends on face book. We talked for about 8 months, and then i went to visit her in lithuania. I stayed at her house with her parents and 2 sisters from (this date to this date) and we enjoyed every second of spending time together, very much. I asked her to marry me in her home one day while there, and she accepted happily. I thank you for taking the time to read this.

It is supposed to describe the actual meeting with your fiance(e) USCIS is concerned only with the circumstances of meeting, however you can describe more of how your relationship evolved if you feel it necessary. What you have looks good so far!

We used a typical business letter heading with the USCIS mailing address, date, my address, and addressed it "To whom it may concern". Ours was 2 short paragraphs about how we met, where we had been together, when I proposed, etc. Signed, written name below it. Nothing emotional or romantic, only specifics - dates, times, locations. Approved without issue.

Ours was about a side of computer paper long, and in it we described our meetings over the last two years and referred to photographs and boarding documents, etc. I think we had about 12 appendices that we referred to, all labelled and dated, so that the people reading it knew exactly what document was being referenced and to try and show that our story was genuine.

I don't know for certain having not reached the NOA2 stage what they are specifically looking for, but I would try and reference some of the evidence that you are sending in so that your statement is supported by as much 'proof' as possible.

The 129-F does not really ask How you met. Thats clarified in the Petition. Its a simple page. Myspace, Facebook, through a friend, work, etc.

My Attorney wrote: We met Online 3 years ago and we wish to marry upon her arrival in the US within 90 days. We are in Love. Thats it.

Your other documents meet proof of meeting within 2 years.

I wrote 2 sentences which included how we met (I was introduced to her from a friend/ work colleague), how many times we have seen each other (4), and when I proposed to her. My backup support were some photos of the two of us, and airline ticket stubs of my travel to see her.

I wrote, "Aaron and I first met 12/27/10 in Entebbe, Uganda while I was visiting the home of <name> (my friend and his cousin) 12/27/10-1/11/11, since which time we have kept in touch via phone and Internet. I visited him again 7/2-7/9/11. During my 3rd visit 12/24/11-1/9/12 we traveled together to visit his sister in Nairobi, Kenya 1/5-1/8/12, where we became engaged on 1/7/12."

Most of the evidence we submitted as proof of meeting within 2 years concerns the Nairobi trip, but I also wanted to briefly present background of the rest of our time together. Only at NOA1, so I'm not sure whether it worked, but it made sense to me.

Yeah, a whole love story is nice but you're forcing them to read it, they take out all unnecessary word to conclude when you have met, where and how. Basically a short timeline.

They only benefit from it when it reached the embassy, you have already provided some information they may ask for. Regardless, they might ask anyways to confirm what's already in your file.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Hmm dont want to sound like an idiot but, what does noa1 mean?

- Copy of passport stamps and passport bio page from whichever one travelled

- Copy of boarding passes (shows you actually boarded the flights on those dates)

are best evidence for proof of having met within 2 years prior to petition being sent.

- copies of photos together with details of date, location are good secondary evidence

best of luck

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file

No it doesn't need to be a letter. You put it on the section of the I-129F when it asks when you met (meaning in person). You need only write "I met my fiancee in person in Lithuania on X date where I stay for X days".
