HI!

Here my story:

My fiance and I were approved on January 19. A couples days later we called the NVC and they told us that our case reached NVC on February 1, and it was sent to the Caracas embassy on February 3. Here in Venezuela, we dont have package 3 or 4. Couple days later after your case is send to Caracas, you email the embassy and after 3-5 days they give you your interview appointment. We Wrote an email on February 7, and it's February 24 and nothing yet :S. We wrote a second email last friday (Feb 17) and NOTHING YET.

My fiance recieved a letter from the NVC today, from Feb 6. saying that our case was approved and it will be send it to Venezuela 6 days later. That means February 12. Now We understand why the embassy have not respond yet.

I wanna know why they said that our case was fwrd to Venezuela on February 3 when, according to the NVC letter, it was sent it on Feb 12-13.

Should I call back the NVC asking wich date is the right one? Should I write another e-mail to the embassy?

We're so anxious about it, mostly me. It's been a month after our noa 2, and there're a lot of couples who were approved weeks later after us, and they already have their interview appointments. There's a couple (USA-VENEZUELA) We've almost the same timeline, and their interview is scheduled April 16, almost 3 month later :s

Thanks for any help you can provide

God bless u

Call the NVC again AND call the Department of State. Both can tell you what time your case was actually sent to the embassy, and DOS can also tell you when it was received.

This is the way I understand it.

I am a cog in the wheel that is the bureaucracy that is the USCIS/NVC/embassy/etc. I date a letter/form/etc. I give it to someone to envelope. That person sends it down the line to someone else to stamp. That person sends it down the line to the mail bin.

If I have a stack of letters to envelope, perhaps the secretary won't envelope mine until a few days later. Then the stamping person needs to feed it into the machine for stamping. Then someone has to carry that to the mail bin.

On top of this, the NVC apparently only sends on ones that fall into a magical date that is explained in a not-very-explanatory way on their site.

Here is a quote from A lawyer's website explaining several things about the NVC

<<<"

The NVC receives between 100,000 and 120,000 pieces of mail each week.

">>>

For us, our NOA2 was Jan 10th. We got the embassy packet (Perú) on February 14th. The interview is scheduled for March 14th.

Perú's K-1 embassy packet can be viewed in our photos.

Try to confirm what date your petition actually left NVC. It takes about a week for the embassy to receive and process anything from them.

There were 4 shipments on DHL between 2/2 and 2/14 that could have had your petition, meaning if the most recent of those had your file on it, it only arrived at the embassy last week. Don't forget Monday was a holiday. If you don't hear anything by this coming Monday, contact NVC and email ImmigrantCaracas2@state.gov (I always get faster responses from this address). Good luck!

Yes, call NVC/department of state to verify where your petition is.

An option is that is actually is on its way or at the embassy. The have to manually log the file. If it's in a pile of other cases, they have received it but not processed it. Same thing happens between USCIS and NVC.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Thanks for your help. We called NVC a few hours ago and they're pretty sure that our package was send to Caracas on February 3. We told her (NVC WORKER) about the letter and she said maybe something delayed the letter, but for sure our date is FEB 3. But we have no appointment yet and we alredy write an email to immigrantcaracas2 , 3 days ago. Only pray and wait. Thankssss
