Hi there,

We just got I-130 approval and head to do NVC electronic processing.

We want to find out how long it will take to reach interview date.

Based on http://www.visajourney.com/content/ir1cr1historical , it shows there are still step 3 and 4 ahead of us. Is this correct?

Step 4 is 'Embassy K-3 Visa Processing Time'. What is this? Do we need this K-3 stuff since we apply CR-1?

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

You will not do anything having to do with K3

Now that the petition has been approved, you will wait until NVC receives the case which takes about 1 week. Once they process it, which will most likely take one additional week, they will assign and give you a case number. Then you will be prompted to pay AOS and IV bill, as well as submit documents. If you can pay the fees in one week and send the documents out quickly, it will take them approximately one more week to go through the documents you sent and get an interview date for you.

So from the moment it leaves USCIS until the interview date given, its about 1 month or less.

Married: 6/17/11

I-130 Sent: 7/9/11

NOA1 : 7/14/11

I-129F Sent: 7/21/11

NOA1: 7/21/11

NOA2: 8/22/11

NVC Received: 8/24/11

NVC Left: 8/26/11

Consulate Received: 9/5/11

Packet 4 Received: 10/4/11

Medical Done: 11/7/11

Interview: 11/23/11

Approved: 11/23/11

Changed to CR1: 12/16/11

Medical Re-Done: 1/5/12

Waiting for Issuance of Visa.........

You can read LingChi's shortcuts to NVC to help you prepare

It took 19 days to get a case number from nvc and then 13 days to finish nvc after i got the case number.

Each embassy has a different wait time for interviews.

egypt used to be 6 month wait and now it is down to 1.5 month wait after case complete

Disregard anything to do with K3. Since you will be doing EP at the NVC, read my EP thread if you haven't already done so, I detailed my complete EP experience with the NVC. The only thing I would suggest to you right now is do not OPTIN until you have the AOS invoice and a DS-3032 in your email inbox. I have seen two other VJ members (Palladin and Foobaz) have problems by sending the OPTIN email prior to receiving the items I mentioned.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

instead of 'that particular url' for timeline study and research...

from a pc...

click the flag under year name.

then in the left panel , click on 'ir-1/cr-1' then

sort on NOA-2 approval date, descending.

You'll get a better idea of stuff when you study the timelines (for China) exactly in that fashion.

Electronic Processing through the NVC is not available for Pakistan cases.

RyanH - thanks for clearing that up! I was gettig a little confused!

Read your EP post - its quite a convoluted process it seems... makes me feel better that i paid an attorney to help me with this.

Hope you are enjoying the fruits of your journey - good luck with everything - i see your posts everywhere i look... so thanks for your input.
