Hi everyone,

My brain is fried :( .. So i was in US from 2006 to 2008 under a J1 visa. I had a SSN cause I worked as an Au pair. Now i know that SSN is not valid anymore. So I need help to answer these questions:

43a. have you ever applied for Social Security NUmber (SSN)? "YES"

Do you want a replacement card? (?) DONT KNOW WHAT TO ANSWER HERE.

the next is: do you want the social security administration to assign you a SSN and issue a card? ( you must answer YES to question 43b. to receive a number and a card) "YE" ...

I had another question regarding to this section, but i forgot :( .. Im struggling to answer this part as I`ve had a SSN before which is NOT valid, but EVERY form that askes me about SSN I either put its number or say "YES" ..

Thanks for your time and help.

That SSN is your SSN for life. You wont get a new one.

You don't want a replacement card if you still have yours because you only get 3 cards given to you.

Also for k1 they don't issue SSN you have to go get it yourself from the SS office ( but you already have an SSN. )

Also also DS 230 has example forms lol http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-DS-230.pdf

Only you would fill in a little different because you do have an SSN.

Thanks for you reply.. I saw the sample to fill out DS 230, but theres no exception examples, but yes it helps.

I thought I should get a new one because i got this one 5 years ago and I thought it was already CANCELED .

I will double check and read the form carefully.

Thanks again,

Once you're there, go into the SSN office and let them sort it out. If you have your old card, bring it with you.
