What happens to my B1/B2 visa when I get married to an American citizen?

I am a Filipino citizen and my tourist visa expires in 2018. I am getting married to an American citizen later this year(2012)in the Philippines and we will be living in the Philippines. Will I still be able to visit the US with this visa? I have no intention of immigrating to the US. I'm also afraid that once my tourist visa expires, my chances of renewing it is nil because of the fact that I'm married to an American citizen and they assume everyone is wanting to immigrate to the US. I just want to keep my option of visiting the US as a tourist open. What am I to do?

Nothing happens to it. You'll need to show strong ties to home to enter at POE and to renew, just like before. The burden of proof will be somewhat higher now that you are in a relationship with a USC.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thanks for the replies.

Is there another type of visa that I may apply for once I'm married to a US citizen for non-immigrant purposes? I just want to have a better chance of not being denied at the port of entry.

You have a chance of being denied entry at any time, no visa guarantees you entry to the US.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

No, no to the question of any special non-immigrant visa for spouses of a US citizen and no to a better chance of not being denied entry.

All a valid visa allows you to do is apply for admittance into the US - nothing guarentees entrance into the US

Good luck
