so i went to pick up visa today and thanks to other reviews i was prepared for anything but preparation doesnt matter..i was very angry. There were about 200 people all waiting to get visas..so after waiting for about 6 hours to pick up my visa i was given yet another blue slip to come pick up my visa..the journey continues. i cant wait till i dont have to deal with this people anymore because theyre incompetent and disorganized and the worst part about it is their care free attitude about everything. your time means nothing to them!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I think there are many embassy just like yours, unorganized and unprofessional. I also can empathize with you about the bad attitude they have, as if they have done this for free for us. We pay a ton of money, waste a lot of time and go through an emotional roller coaster and still have to deal with inconsiderate people.

I hope that you can get some closure soon and they give you the visa so you don't have to waste another minute of your time.

We keep talking about it, now is the time. We need to start a letter writing campaign against this Embassy.

I'm not surprised to read this as another member (I think it was a CR1 visa) wrote that they went to the pick up appointment, waited 7 hours, just to be told that they had lost his file

As much as I will like to say that things will improve, i know it will not.It boils down to one thing. They have no respect for Ghanaians and they can treat them anyway they like.To treat applicants like prisoners by having a glass in front of them and having people wait for hours on end is unacceptable. When you go to USCIS buildings here it is not like that. When you go for an interview you sit in a room face to face with a person, yet in Ghana people stand for hours on end with no results and are told to come the next time around.Even here at the DMV anyone who is inside the offices by 4:30 pm or closing time will be served, even if it takes 8 hrs.

Bottom line. That embassy was built with funds derived from the sweat and toil of Ghanians, no federal funds went to building that embassy. You would think that they would treat Ghanianas with more respect. Not even a media blitz or campaign to criticize the consulate will have any impact.Sad to say but it is what it is.

The United States pays for the construction of their embassy, they may contract with local construction companies to build the structure but ALL the cost is federal funds from U.S. citizens.

sorry foe the late response..weve had no power in my house :(. some people wer able to pick up their visas and yes i wish they would treat us all with a little more sensitivity. This is stresssfull enough without them adding to it. im am just praying and hoping that wednesday bring about good news. i know its sad to say but i really dont any amount of letter will change anything( at least not at the consulate). i would say boycott them for a while so they see how much money theyd loose but lets be honest we all just want to get to all loved ones as soon as possible

Exactly !! If The US Government sucks so bad then feel free to STAY in Ghana !

Try going to a Ghanaian Embassy and see how organized and professional that place is operated. Does Ghana have a K1 Fiancé Visa program? NO, only the evil US has that program. Being allowed into the US to join a Fiancé is a PRIVILEGE, and one that not many countries reciprocate and offer to Americans (Including Ghana).
