Hello Visa Journey,

A very good friend of mine who just got her greencard advised me to check out VisaJourney and i am really glad i can be a part of this great online community.

I need a lot of help from you guys as i do not know much about the visa process(this will be my first time working without an immigration attorney) and i hope i do everything right the first time.

To introduce myself, i have been on a student visa for about 10 years and have completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in CA.

I am currently on a f-1 visa and i just received the OPT term upon graduation.

I met my fiance about a year and a half ago and we have been inseperatable ever since.

Because of the time restrictions and our travel plans, we went ahead and got married about 2 wks ago.

However, we are planning on having an actual wedding in so cal in Oct. and fly over to South Korea and have a wedding there in Nov.

He and i feel confident that we can get through this visa process without an attorney (but with your help ;) )

But i am not even sure if we should file for a K3 application or some other applications.

I am currently living in Southern California and have not left the country for the last 4 years.

I have always remained my student status legitimately and stayed in the states legally. My husband is a U.S. born citizen.

I have been reading a lot of related topics, articles, and requirements.

So i feel like i have a broader understanding of this process but would really appreciate any of you guys' kind explaination and help as to where i need to start and what i need to do.

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Sincerely,

Kait

Forget about any visa process. Visas are used to enter countries. You're already here. You need to adjust status to become a permanent resident. Follow this guide and post your questions in the Adjustment of Status from Student.... forum.

you are eligible to adjust status. No need to chase after visa.

Study the 'AOS' process via the link Push provided,

and do please, change up yer travel plans until you have a green card in your hands.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
