Thank you Tamara for your additional prayers. (L)

Yes..thank you for the prayers, Tamara. Still haven't heard from my husband's family. My husband is barely able to concentrate at work and is so stressed...I can't tell him to not watch the News because he gets even more stressed. His brother in Damascus can't even get ahold of the family in the village..they're cut off even from that short distance.

Why should the US intervene when there is such as thing as the "Arab League". Let the "Arab League" get off their dead worthless arses and do something for a change.

The US pumps billions of US tax payer dollars to MENA countries every year.

The Arab league does not have the resources. No other country in the world matches or has the military resources the US has. The US provides and supports much of the worlds military in other countries. When we looked at the graphs in political science there is no one that even comes close because we budget such a huge portion for defense it's astronomical. Plus the US has an invested interest in the support and spreading of democracy. It's been the game plan since before the cold war.

The Arab League countries have spent billions of dollars on weapons these past few decades and countries like Saudi Arabia are filthy rich. How many Arab League countries border Syria or are a stones throw away? The US tax payers are already in deep ####### and if the Arab League won't do anything then why should the US? Again they have plenty of resources and it's in their own back yard. It's about time the Arab League actually did something productive. Personally I think the Arab League is a total waste. It does nothing and most likely will do nothing. Arabs helping Arabs...you don't see much of that and there's a reason why.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Again the Arab League does not have the military resources the US has. No one does. I've thought the same thing. Why doesn't the Arab League do something they have lots of oil money, ect. After looking into it I know that some of the countries have purchased some weapons but nothing in comparison to our military. I also know Saudi Arabia is wealthy but I also consider that they are dealing with their own Arab Spring currently and are attempting to maintain peace by redistributing billions among the people as a sort of bribe if we may. Other Arab countries are concerned with their Arab Springs as well and their resources and hands are tied up in that. While other Arab League countries that border Syria are using their resources in preparation for the influx of refugees. They have organized humanitarian resources such as the Arab Red Crescent and ICRC. But to get these things in there they need military aid to do so which can't be done without the international community's support. Part of the problem of gaining support is the idea that this sets a precedent for intervention in a sovereign nation when a crack down happens like this. Which is also part of the reason China and Russia vetoed this because they don't want it happening in their country when they need to maintain order as they have done in the past similar to this. Some of the Arab countries are along this same line of thinking too. Russia is said to have sold the weapons to Syria so they're in business together. China has had Tienanmen Square and if they need to do it again they don't want the international community saying we did it in Syria and you agreed it was wrong then. As for the US taxpayers I don't know enough facts on that to provide an appropriate comment. I did watch the budget committee meeting today for our defense and while Leon Panetta admits we have the mightiest military in the world he said we could be more efficient and that we have the capability to be.
