Hi! can anyone help me please..My husband filed my case April 2011. He's a PR in U.S. He received a mail on August 2011 stating for their approval and we will wait for their call after 30days. If they didn't call after 30days, we have to email them or call their hotline. so we called because we didn't received any. when my husband called their hotline, they just said that we have to wait until December or January for the next step. It's almost March and we haven't receive any mail or call from them. Is it okay? or we still have to follow up our case?

Badly need your reply pretty pls.......

don't wait them to call you, Call Them..that's my advise.

We tried once. Is it true that USC has more advantage when it comes to how fast the processing times?

So your husband is a permanent resident and the visa category is F2A correct? The next step will be you have to wait for the priority date to become current, they are currently processing F2A filers of July 2009.

Yes USC has more advantage because immediate relatives of a US Citizen always have a visa available for them so they dont have a waiting time, for US (Green Card holders) they have to wait for the priority date to become current, in your case the priority date is April 2011. You should receive a case number from NVC by now, if you did not received it yet then follow up with them.

It would cost around $700 including the biometric fee. But he needs to be in the US for atleast 5 years to be able to apply.

This will help you

Most people wait atleast 3.5 - 4 years, it depends on the volume of applicants each month, you need to check the visa bulletin every 10th of the month, link provided below. Sometimes it moves by 2 or 3 months but sometimes it does not move.

i understand now. So if he applies naturalization then we'll wait for 3-4 months to change his status as PR to USC? My petition will then be move faster? It's almost one year now since he filed our petition. And we don't want to wait in vain anymore. Your reply really helped. i thank you so much.

It will be more complicated if you will change the visa category and I dont know the answer to your question. But I am a Filipino as well (naturalized) and based on my relatives case and experience when they filed a petition with their spouse, it took atleast 4 years because of the priority date waiting time.

If you have more questions dont hesitate to ask, I will answer it with the best of my knowledge, Good luck to you and your husband. Stay positive
