Any Occupational Therapist moving to USA?

Hi I'm an OT trained in Sydney Uni 2001-2004 Bachelor degree, and worked a few years as OT in Sydney and UK.

Then I found my man (USA) online and is going to move there.

Unfortunately in late 2007, the USA OT association changed rules, bachelor OTs will have difficulty register in USA to practice.

I won't mention the process i went through with OTED in the last few months, GOSH. just wondering any OTs here in Australia is also moving there, if you can't work as an OT, what kind of job will you do?

Government regulations are over taxing and it is a time for a change, my wife is facing same issues as an electrical engineer.

Yeah they do, in fact I would say the majority of professions have some kind of issue, I was one of the lucky ones who don't have that problem.

My experience is Australia so that doesn't count much either. Some of us have REALLY struggled. Some end up working at Walmart to start getting some money in. I have "loftier" goals (not wanting to work at Macca's etc) and that is helping with my downfall

lol, my six years of working with food and in supermarkets and managerial skills in supermarkets got me a nice cushy job in the Jewelry department at Walmart

To the OP, I really hope that you are able to continue working in OT once here in the US, I really wish you all the best of luck. And luck to all of you who are having trouble with this sort of thing.

As if Ive no Education nor work experience and in this country I cant even join the military....
