No decision after interview?

I am totally confused. My N-652 saying that "You passed the test of English, US History and government", and it also saying that "A decision cannot yet be made about your application". The guy in office told me that he needs to pass my file to the supervisor, and only supervisor decides everything. By the way he officer didn't ask me about my marriage anything!!! He went straight to the test... But he was very nice, he also added that I shouldn't wait for the decision for a long time, and that supervisor should make his decision latest tomorrow.... Strange...

That is so totally normal, it's actually boring.

Every A-file needs to be reviewed and signed off by a supervisor before the applicant can be given the green light. This way the U.S. government can prevent a crook from paying off a corrupt I.O. who looked the other way or closed his eyes, so that an applicant can become a U.S. citizen when he should not be eligible. Yes, the chance for this to happen is super small, but becoming a U.S. citizen is a super big deal.

Within 3 to 4 weeks, you will receive your Oath appointment letter.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Thank you for replies. I am worried as people in local office usually give approval and oath letter in your hands after you pass your interview. My status is same Interview/ review. I cannot understand why they couldn't approve me at first place: I came here with a fiance visa, I live happily with my husband for 4,5 years, he serves in Armed Forces, I never was arrested, never even got a traffic ticket. We have a child and planning to have the second..... I still heard nothing from my local office. still wondering why after passing test they needed to pass my file to supervisor. If I do not hear anything till Wednesday I will get the infopass to check what is going on...

An infopass for what? Just stay put and give it several days for your approval/oath. You haven't done anything wrong, so why the worry? And don't depend on the online status - for the most part it's never up to date or correct.

Yours has been a while - I'd give them 30 days and make an infopass or at least call.

I passed my test last Wednesday and still nothing. I know it is too early to panic, but I know few people here in Orlando who took their test and got approval and oath letter same day in their hands.... When I left the office the officer told me that I will receive a letter in few days.... but I still do not know why he couldn't give anything in the office like everybody else..... If I do not receive anything by the end of this week I am going to ask for Infopass....

With my wife, her idiot IO told her she passed, so my wife very politely ask if she could have the same day oath like many other field offices do. Was told, NO! Her application has to be sent someplace else, doesn't know where, for final approval, but should hear something in two weeks.

Seven weeks went by, contacted my senators office, reason for the delay was her application was misplaced, but did get an email from the office manager and a .pfd of her oath ceremony on a Friday to be held the following Monday at 8:00AM. That morning, everybody was extremely nice.

Yes, the supervisors check over your application in the same exact field office, not only for the applicant, but also for the IO to make sure they did everything correct. If the IO screwed up, you still pay the price and have to make another trip.

Hi Elmira, relax, you'll get the letter. I had my interview on 2/10 and still waiting to get the oath date letter. IO said March session is full and possibly for April session. So I am waiting. I would wait 30 days before I call them that way it will give them time. Email said they would let me know with in 45 days of the recommendation so they could take upto 45 days before they get back to us.

OK. let's give them sometime. If not my husband (US born citizen) wants to send a letter to our senator, as he is pretty mad. Because our friend passed his interview (last year) and got approval letter and oath invitation letter same day in office. So my husband cannot understand why they are treating me different way. I will try to explain my husband that we should to wait
