So of course, right in the middle of my AOS package prep, I get a job offer from another company. I was going to send off my AOS this week, but they told me to hold off on it because they don't want to wait the 60-90 days for the EAD, and instead want to file another I-797A (as my current employer did when I was hired there) with rush processing, so I can start working in two weeks.

Not a big deal I guess.. but now I'll have to go and change the expiry dates, employer, and re-sign/date the applications. Sigh.

Hopefully this isn't going to cause issues. I can't imagine for a family-based greencard that only having my current job for less than a month will affect my application.. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Are you using your income to supplement the I-864 or just your spouses?

Both, we file joint tax returns. It really wouldn't matter either way, we both make over 5x the federal poverty guideline...

Why do you ask?

Why do you ask?

For the I-864, if the intending immigrants income is included, there must be evidence that it will continue from the same source after they become a permanent resident. It won't matter for you since your spouse makes more than enough. It sometimes becomes an issue when someone takes a lower paying job, or if they start the job close to the interview where there is not enough evidence (pay cheques etc.) from the new job.

Ah, yes. I can see that. I'll only have been with the company a few days before I'm sending my AOS. In fact, immediately after I get my new TN. I can see them balking at the lack of proof of income for the new position. Like you mentioned, shouldn't be an issue with my wife working :)
