Does the N-400 out of country deadline reset?

I am currently staying with my family in Manila while my husband is working in Afghanistan. I have my green card and am waiting for my husband to return before I apply for citizenship. My 6 month time to be overseas will expire soon and I will need to return before his contract is finished. What I want to know is: How long do I have to remain in the U.S. before my 6 month period "resets" and I can go back to Manila and wait for my husband's contract to finish?

The dates don't reset. If you are applying for citizenship based on 3 years as a LPR married to a US citizen then you must be physically present in the US for at least 18 months (548 days) of those three years.

You have up to one year without a Re-entry Permit. Here is the CBP FAQ on travel:

Rent or mortgage payments and pay stubs.

If she is gone for more than one year at a time, then the three year clock restarts. If she is gone more than 6 months at a time, she has a higher burden of proving residency. If she is gone more than 18 months in the last three years, she is not eligible to apply for citizenship.

you can, but I would recommend against for reasons other posters stated (having to prove you maintained residence).

I'm curious if other people have had any issues at the immigration interview or oath ceremony, if they met all requirements (physical presence, residency, etc), yet took multiple trips of less than 6 months each prior to the interview and within the last 3 years of permanent residency based on marriage.
