Hello guys, i am a newbie here. I got married last month and filed my papers end of january . I have my biometrics appointment on 1st march. I wanted to make a trip to my home country in mid april..is there any chance i get my EAD/AP combo card before that..? What is current time line for it because from what i heard from my lawyers it takes 3-4 weeks after biometrics. Any personal experience?

See the EAD approval stats.

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/eadstats.php?cfl=$cfl

Right now cards are being approved on average 63 days after the NOA1 date. It takes another 1-2 weeks from approval to actually receive the card. You will be cutting it very close.

It does not really depend on your biometrics date, if you have an early biometrics this does not necessarily mean you will get an early approval. However if your biometrics was unusually late the approval may be delayed.

Try looking at immigration timelines. Currently, it's around 63 days however that's not including the time it takes from approval until you have it in your hand(shipping). Mine took 69 days. Some don't get EAD before greencard. Unless it's an emergency, it might be good to postpone traveling until you have the greencard. Or make sure you can reschedule your tickets to a different day of departure so they're not just lost.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days
