On a separate note, it could delay you being together because many times they won't allow a pregnant woman to travel after 6 months. I'm in the same situation with my wife (Philippines, waiting for visa). We DO want to have a baby, but will wait until she is here.

No X-rays for women who are pregnant or THINK they could be pregnant. Pregnant women cannot even be in the vicinity of the x-ray room. That applies here in the US of A. Don't know about other countries and if they are aware of dangers of radiation to a fetus, but I think they should. The Embassy/Consulate should not demand an x-ray for a pregnant woman.

No the embassy will not demand an xray nor will the doctor give her one. However I disagree with the above posts. Depends on the consulate. I have known a couple whose visa was expedited so the wife could fly into POE because the later it gets the less likely it will be for the wife to have the ability to fly. Again like I said some people take things like that into consideration. You should not expect it but it never hurts to bring it up.

I watched a documentary on pregnancy in the USA on how its so different from other countries. Here you have your baby in a hospital, where in other countries it is done with a midwife. And they killed a lot of babies in the old days by doing hip x-rays on all pregnant women.

one post removed for unnecessary remarks that add nothing to the conversation. two posts that quoted that post removed, posts returned below:

You know, the immigration process doesn't care about love. A bona fide relationship is not necessarily based on love. USCIS and the embassies in some countries are very much ok with arranged weddings where love isn't the reason for the marriage.

below post edited to remove personal attack.

Thanks everyone for replying with great info :) I hope our visa app gets processed smoothly and quickly, this distance is just difficult for us and although the Internet helps alot, it's not the same as being together with the person you love the most. And btw, we're not expecting a child anytime soon, I was just wondering whether it would have an effect, negative or positive, on our visa app.
