I am almost ready to send in the I-130 Packet but need to know if a photo copy is okay for the translated marriage certificate.

I'm a USA citizen and she is a Romanian citizen.

We got married in Romania and have one translated Marriage Certificate.

Is it okay to send a photo copy of a translated Marriage Certificate?

it's a high resolution color photo copy that looks just like the original except for one "stick on stamp".

thanks! from what I have seen onlin... it may be a required to send in the original translation. but maybe the rules have now changed?

I would send the original.. They might not accepted and give you a RFE.

You should only send photocopies to the USCIS, never send original documents, same goes for the translations. As for NVC processing, you will need to send them original documents or certified copies, otherwise you'll get an RFE.

I sent a certified copy of my original marriage certificate as well as a certified English Translation. I urge you to do the same. Not worth the risk getting RFE.

EDIT: Just wanna add that this is only for the USCIS portion of the application. When dealing with NVC you will have to send your original Marriage Certificate along with the original and certified translation.
