I feel like I'm coming down the home stretch! DOS said today that P4 has been sent out. There's nothing on the Montreal web site about P4 (like there was for P3), so I feel like I'm flying blind a bit. So, to be clear, I do Not have to wait to actually receive anything, correct? I can just go ahead and schedule my interview now?

Also, can anyone who has recently booked an appointment explain the difference between the K1 Visa option and the "Ready to Schedule" option? I thought previously that the difference was one was for pre-paying and the other for paying at the interview, but I've heard that you can *only* prepay now... so, does it matter which I choose?

(Not that it matters too much... there are no appointments available just now anyway, but I'd like to feel confident in what I'm doing.)

Thanks for any advice/pointers you can share.

The K-1 Visa journey for myself and my two K-2 children:

K-1: NOA1 2011-8-10; NOA2 2012-1-12; Interview 2012-4-24; Visa issued 2012-9-17; POE (Sarnia) 2012-9-26; Wedding! 2012-10-02
AOS: NOA1 2012-11-20; Biometrics 2012-12-14; AP/EAD approved 2013-1-11; Interview 2013-1-31; 2-yr Green cards in hand 2013-2-9 (101 days total)

ROC: NOA1 11-7-14; Biometrics 12-1-14; 10-yr Green cards ordered 4-13-15! (157 days total)

As far as I know ready to schedule is what you said it is- just skipping the pre payment. If you're paying online just choose the K1 option.

Why are people saying you can't pay at the appointment now? I'm not saying that's wrong, I'm just curious and it seems odd to me, and I haven't seen anything to indicate as such. But, perhaps Montreal got tired of handling cash. :/

I'm just going by what was said in this thread last month: Interview Payment

I haven't heard anything otherwise since then.

if they say they have sent the P4 go ahead and book the interview. its a lot eayser to pree pay online. i was told i could only pree pay so i did but i did see people paying when they got there. you may just want to go ahead and pree pay. also note you cant see the available days till you do pay. i had to wait a month till any came up. also if you are using a old version of IE it wont work you need to update or use firefox.

This is the difference we found - "ready to schedule" meant paying when you interview; "permanently immigrate" meant paying online when scheduling.

When we went to schedule, we originally selected "ready to schedule" and there were no appointments available. However, when I selected "permanently immigrate", we found an open time slot.

I hope this helps and best of luck getting an interview soon!!!
