Hi, long time forum reader and couldn't find this issue.

My fiance and I are planning on getting married and right before we file the k-1 visa, I (the US Citizen / petitioner) found out my job will have me go to Amsterdam for about 2 months for work.

Will this affect our K-1 visa process?

Or would it be substantially easier or faster to bring my fiance to Amsterdam with me, get married there, and then bring her back to the states?

Thanks-

yes you can go for 2 months.. stay 9 months if offered. It will not affect the K-1 visa. If you get married you cannot for for a K1 visa. The k-1 visa are only for those who WILL get married inside of the USA. If you get married outside the USA you will file for the CR-1 visa.

You have to be a resident of that country and married to your fiancee in order to go through DCF(if it's possible in the country). Otherwise there's no advantage when you're only staying for 2 months.

If you continue the i129f petition/K1 it shouldn't have a negative effect. Your employer is the same, meaning it's US income, right? That's a question for the affidavit of support you'll have to submit later on regarding income requirements.
