Hi everyone! I thought I should say hi since we're finally getting started on our journey. I'm Meg, a Chiropractor in the US and my fiance is Alan, a teacher from England. We met in 2009 on Facebook and immediately became friends. I'm a computer gamer so thought nothing of a new friend from across the globe. He was trying to get out of an abusive marriage and I had just gotten out of a long relationship so we were happy to have someone who understood what the other was going through. I knew he was the one for me after our first chat but also knew I was crazy to think we'd ever be more than friends. After he filed for divorce and was starting the healing process with his boys, he admitted that he knew my feelings and felt the same. We agreed that we should meet over his Christmas break in 2010 so he and his boys flew out to spend a week with me and my parents. It was like we've known each other forever! We've spoken every day and have gotten emails from ooVoo telling us we're in the top 1% of users for time spent in calls LOL. He and the boys have been out to stay with my family four times (including the entire month of August) and I've been to visit him twice. I wish I could visit more, but I can't keep closing my office and finding coverage for my patients. Owning a small business is not good for lots of travel. I can't wait for our families to meet each other person too; they all get along so well! I feel so lucky to have found him, and that he's crazy enough to move him and his boys 3000 miles for a fresh start in life :)

We've been ready to do this for almost a year but have had to wait to get started while he finished up his divorce and custody stuff. His solicitor said that we should get going on visa applications so he can present it when he goes for his next court case regarding the boys' mum's visitation. That was the best news we'd gotten in a long time! I'm putting the final touches on our I-129F tomorrow - getting my passport photos done, adding in the pics of us for proof of meeting and finishing up my cover letter. Then it's off to the post office!

HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who's contributed to the guides and forums here! We'd hoped to do all of this without more lawyer bills and couldn't do it without all the help :D

We married on Aug 24, 2013 in a small ceremony in MA

We'll be applying for a CR1 / IR1 visa as soon as we are able

09, September 2014: 10 weeks pregnant! Baby #2 is on the way!!! (L)

I am so glad to see you're taking care of the everything regarding the kids before submitting the paperwork for the i-129f petition. Less bumps on the road and less things to slow you down. Good luck, hoping you'll have a speedy journey. :)

Congrats! And it's nice to see another couple who met on Facebook. My fiance and I met playing poker. We met in the Philippines last summer (He's Filipino but living in Qatar.) We are meeting again in the Philippines.

Congrats to you too :) And yeah, it's nice to know we're not the only ones who met playing games on Facebook. We usually get looks like we are insane when we tell people how we met.
