Please Help !! Uncertainity !! K1 VISA

My Fiancee' had an interview for K1 Visa on 14th of Feb 2012, in Kathmandu, Nepal. They requested original birth certificate in Nepali, despite the fact they only asked for translation a week before they scheduled the interview. They said they would call if more document needed, but never did. Anyways, so she went next day as the Consular had asked her to come with the Birth Certificate so that they could schedule another appointment for the interview.

So she goes there with the document and the response she gets is, "We'll call you" !! She requested for interview date and they mentioned, her interview was already conducted and that was the only document they required, and asked her to wait for the call. No ETA whatsoever :(

Previous day on the interview all they asked her was her name and if she had that birth certificate. Apparently, they made her sign some form and returned some of the evidence of relationship such as Photographs, call logs, email logs etc. However, they still kept the passport and other original documents.

She called back the next day and visited the embassy the day after as well. All they kept saying was they'll call her and wouldn't confirm or deny if she was approved or not !!! :help:

I had plans for her to come here this week and we were planning to get married 2nd week of March. All this is falling apart now and this uncertainty is killing us both. I don't know what to do and where to look for help... :(

Any help at all?? Anyone have any idea what this means? Any one ever had such situations before? Anyone have any idea? Please please please.. PLEASE HELP !!!!!

:(:crying: :crying:

We always advise to never make plans until the visa is in your hands. But it sounds like you will be ok and they are just crossing their T's and dotting I's. If you were denied, they most likely would have given her passport back.

Hello, so bad this is happening, but did they keep her passport??? It's normal they give back all the evidence of the relationship (pictures, letters, etc) during the interview.

Hope you she gets an answer soon.

Yes they still have her Passport and all other original documents including the one that they requested after the interview date. Is it okay for them to not give a reason or not give a decision and simply ask to wait; and without any estimation?

Thank you all for your reply, I will call the DOS, I think there was a typo in the number but I figured it out from their website that it is 202-663-1225. I will update once I call the Embassy and the DOS.

Once again thank you and Hope is still alive..

Something just crossed my mind -- It doesn't mean our application is under Administrative Review, is it? I hope I am wrong because I hear it takes long time in such case. I am super worried... sorry for being so stupid :(
