It just doesnt Matter as much you think you are prepared

Sometimes you are hit by those bad views that are adjourned with your Country

My interview which was rescheduled because of Nation Wide Strike in Nigeria back in January Got Denied

I had EVERYTHING (Documents) and Full Knowledge of my fiancee and well equipped for the interview

Spouse/Fiancee are not allowed at Lagos Consulate (thats another pain except for enquiries)

My fiancee flight was couple of hours after my interview

I wasn't Approved and the reason given was for Immigration Purpose .

Our plan was that i fly with her home.

Its so devastating but she is presently with me in Lagos and goes home soon.

Its being energy consuming and stressing for her.

I love you and it definitely doesnt matter how long they keep us apart.

Anybody with suggestion on what we can do,sure would like to read from you guys

Thanks for those that sent pm's n wrote on our walls

Precise reason wasnt given.

My fiancee was at the embassy today

She was told the Petition has being taken back the second day after my interview

That we could either refil for another K-1

Get Married and File for CR-1

Or wait for response after the petition is being received back there

This doesn't quite make sense. "reason given was for Immigration Purpose" - of course, the K-1 is for immigration purpose.

Now, if they denied because they suspect a sham relationship for immigration purpose... then we'd be getting somewhere.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

yah, so sry to read...dats just B.S that ur fiance was told.. that petition can't be going back already.. i knw she has to travel back soon, but can she go again and this time be more stronger than today? ive also read that she can email and ask for a record/transcript of ur interview. but can you also remember where u might have made an error in ur answers or documents? i know u stated u were equipped, and we understand this CO's are unpredictable, but is there something, even if small, that triggered their decision? hv u been able to re-collect that day step by step? it really sucks, cuz i already know hw trying this process is. But don't be rushed to other resolution unless you have really thought about it cuz another CO down the line might have a problem with it.. such B.S! all the best though.

I have been where you are now and can tell you that although Lagos is evil you can get through this. Right now make a record of everything that happened, every word you remember. Take a deep breath and some palm wine.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

wow...such a hit. I was really hoping for you guys. I was in Nja last week and each couple i saw at the airport while returning back to U.S reminded me of you guys as I wondered on the outcome.

The CR-1 may be ethe prudent way to go now especially since if you wait for the file to get back here, it will be another 6months or more.

Stay strong in your love.

The obvious solution is that she cancel her return ticket.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Technically, the K-1 isn't an immigrant visa, but it's considered "dual-intent" because it's obvious that anyone arriving in the US on a K-1 intends to adjust status. The K-1 is therefore one of the only non-immigrant visas where you're allowed to intend to adjust status from the get go.

It doesn't matter. Still a strange way to word it from them.

Sounds like they thought you were going to have a sham marriage with the intent to circumvent immigration law.

Im sorry to hear this. If I were her I would go to the embassy and ask to speak to someone higher up. I mean she traveled all that way to come for you. If I were her I would be putting on the waterworks in the halls if I had to. :crying: Good Luck to you both.
