Allowance usable for I-864

Hi,

We are just about to apply for AOS for myself as we are now married.

My wife gets an "allowance" interest from a trust fund of $9,600 per annum, paid monthly at $800 by check direct from the trust fund. Is this considered an income in terms of the I-864 and would one just need to attach previous checks to show this?

I would say so. You may need to show documentation that this will be an ongoing income, ie it didn;t stop upon marriage or when she turns 25 or whatever.

It's income but the terms of the payments outlined in a letter from the trust, grantor??(no clue what the financial term is ) would be best. It would be like an employer letter stating how much, for how long, by whom.
