I am new in this site im hoping that somebody can help me here,I am from Cebu City.We got our NOA2 January 19,20I2.I went in Japanese Embassy apply for Japanese Police Certificate in this month Feb.7,2012 coz I've been working in Japan before for 1 year the Japanese Embassy told me that it takes 2-3 months for processing.there's one thing that worried me our case was already in manila and I already pay my visa in BPI.How long should I wait to schedule for my Interview? Is it ok if I will schedule right after I get my Japanese Police Clearance so that I can bring in hand during interview? Please really need advise or anyone have experience should be appreciate.

The visa payment is valid for 1 year so you don't have to worry about that. If I were you I will wait for the Police certificate to get to the embassy before you schedule your intrview appointment. they will not issue your visa without the certificate anyway...

We had to wait 3 weeks and 2 days for delivey of my fiancee Police Certificate (Japan). I was informed that the time would be shorter if the police certificate was mailed to Japan Embassy in Manila instead of the Japan Consulate in Cebu....I found the advice to be true. I believe the delay is due to the Police Certificate has to be forwarded from the Japan Embassy in Manila to Japan Consulate in Cebu. My fiancee had to make a additional trip to Manila to pickup the Police Certificate from Japan Embassy in Manila, but it was worth the time and money. We completed the medical exam and put in request for the police certificate the same trip. The police certificate will be needed during your interview.

You could schedule your interview for a few months out, then get your NBI, CENOMAR, certified birth certificate and as you get close to interview time do your medical and CFO. If the police certificate has not arrived from Japan go to your interview anyway, they will give you a 221 for the police report but once that arrives and you send it to the embassy you will get your visa shortly there after. Hi Daisy and thony, i,m in the same situation as you are. We,re trying to get a police clearance from Hong Kong, but we cannot apply because we need a "request letter" from the embassy. The HK clearance takes 6 weeks to process also.I've tried calling the embassy numerous times, they either tell me to wait or they give me the wrong information. i also e-mailed them, nothing.I scheduled an interview for march 15, but cancelled it, because we would not be prepared. I hope someone can help both of us . We have until May 18, on our NOA2. thanks vj and members

Duplicate threads on the same topic have been merged together. It is not necessary - nor useful - to post the same question in more than one forum. While this topic relates to a matter concerning the K-1 visa, it is asking specifically about processes involving the Manila Consulate so I am leaving the merged thread in the Philippines forum.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
