I am a USC trying to petition adjustment of status for my husband.I know i need to file form i-864 (affidavit of support) But a year ago I had filed bankruptcy and its in the process because of a medical bill that I had .But now I got a good paying job.Do i need a co-sponsor to file form i-864 and do i also to write a letter to USCIS to explain about the bankruptcy?

Sorry if I have asked this question twice not sure if the first one went through.I am a USC and about to file adjustment of status for my husband.The question is I had filed for bankruptcy not long ago before I met my husband .I have a good job as a teacher and My income is above poverty level.Will I need a co-sponsor to file form i-864(affidavit of support for my husband)Will bankruptcy issue bring complications to the process.Your help in much appreciated .Thanks in advance

I don't believe you will need a co-sponsor but I would have one lined up just in case.
