This isn't anything yet ... there will be a time in the near future when politicians around the world will turn against all religions and try to get rid of them ...

It will be when the greatest military on Earth (U.S.) forces others to do so at the point of a gun. Onward will we spread the gospel of Atheistic Socialism to all the world.good.gif

You and I are in complete agreement on the superiority of single payer!

Can we also agree that when we have a $17 trillion dollar debt and politicians on both sides, including Obama, sucking up 10's of millions in corporate contributions that CONDOMS are NOT an issue?

You must be one of those RWNJ's that agree with Mitt that 'corporations are people'! Most of us interpret the bill of rights as pertaining to real, live, walking and talking humans. Nothing in this regulation will interfere in ANY way with the right of the INDIVIDUAL to practice his religion free of government coercion! And Obama even went further in making clear that the religiously affiliated employers would not themselves be paying for contraceptive services. Rather it is the insurance companies themselves that are expected to provide this. You may ask how is this possible? Simple. It is CHEAPER for the insurance company to cover contraception than the otherwise increase in pregnancies that will result! It is currently the law in many states that all insurers must do this and without excepting even the churches themselves. Massachussets is one of those states and your Mitt didn't register any objection when he sat in the governor's chair! This is a manufactured issue and one that will guarantee a loss for the republicans in November.

How you missed this statement in my post, "This is about religious liberty, however, the individual members are also free to exercise 'free will', regardless of the teachings of their religion. that mandate attacks the organization." I don't know, maybe you were too busy being a LWNJ to see that we actually agree the individual members are not impacted by the mandate.

It is churches and various religious organizations that will have to comply with the mandate, not the individual. Merely shifting the mandate to the insurer does little to placate the organizations that pay the insurance premiums, the money used to pay for that which is contested originates from the same source. So rather than churches and religious affiliates paying directly for the mandate, they will still be the source of the money, however indirect it might be. Many churches and religious affiliates are insured by a religious insurance company and some even own the companies that provide the insurance.

And what part of Hosanna Tabor v. EEOC do you and other liberals not understand? The SCOTUS just recently made it clear, "government could not meddle in the internal affairs of religious organizations.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

I had to laugh at this though.whistling.gif

Obama cannot exactly run on "4 MORE YEARS!" at least not yet. The tax cuts he proposes may give that to him. On the other hand the economy seems now to be improving and the Repubs have been doing his bidding in Congress and getting nothing in return. Repubs rarely know what to do with the power of the majority when they have it

So, despite a 17 trillion dollar deficit, they make condoms the issue and the "Religious Freedom" of...whom? The Catholic "Church" or "Catholics" Which is it? The Catholic church can still preach abstinence, pull and pray or the swallow method of BC if they want, and Catholics can still steadfastly refuse to wrap their tallywhackers. Why does anyone think the Catholic church has any more business dictating insurance policies than the Federal government?

I have even used a few condoms in my lifetime and paid for them myself (OMG!) Even then it would be OK because I am not Catholic.
