John Burri, Father of Fallen Soldier, Burns NJ Flag to Protest Whitney Houston Tribute

"Have you ever noticed that when anyone dies of drugs or alcohol they are an ICON and it is a national tragedy and they hold a circus event. When someone dies defending some other persons rights in another country you hardly hear about it. What the hell is wrong with this country" (Yahoo user)

100% agree with that man.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

It is amusing really.

The first thing I posted in response to those posting bullshit about Whitney was the fallen soldier page...

There are certain people who cared about Whitney, but I can't say i tout loud without looking like a flat out racist.

We celebrate George Washington's birthday and he was a slave owner.

We have MLK day and he was a philanderer.

Thomas Jefferson made one of his slaves pregnant.

Andrew Jackson ordered the slaughter of thousands of Native Americans and he's on the $20 bill.

600,000 Elvis fans visit Graceland every year and the man had sex with a 14 year old girl. He also died from a drug overdose.

Marilyn Monroe died of a drug overdose.

How is that we as a country can collectively look past these historical figures' flaws and celebrate their achievements, but the state of NJ is somehow not following that tradition?
