Do the shots have to be administered by a civil surgeon if you have already had a full physical recorded with form DS 3025?

My husband had a full physical in the UK before being approved K1 Visa, he was advised he'd need a few shots before changing his status. Now we are trying to submit his AOS

and we discover that in our poorly populated - there is only 1 civil surgeon and he cannot see him until mid March...

Please help.

you can get the shots done by anyone but proof of those shots and any shots marked on the DS-3025 will need transcribing on to the I-693 by a civil surgeon. which shots does he need??

He needs 2 MMR's and the flu shot...

The civil surgeon in the local area states they will not fill out only the vaccination information, that he is required to have another full physical.... I'm not sure how to get them to only complete the shots information without doing the physical all over again.

you cant get them to do anything they dont want so this is a long thread but you might find one relatively close to you. the only other thing you can do is go through the list of civil surgeons until you find one who will do only what you need them to do

I just recently went through this in the DFW area in Texas. I called around to 5 of the CS's in this area. I found one that would discuss the process with me. Even thogh the one we used continued to call it a Physical, it consisted of a TB skin test (un needed I think), a blood test for syphyllis, the doctor listened to her lungs and heart. That's it.

The only thing they did that we actually needed (as far as I can tell) is have us continue the MMR shots and transcribe that. The cost was $115 and I'm told that was cheap. It was confusing to me. CS's are usually also at free/county clinics. Don't be afraid to ask questions and make your choice that way. I hope you have several choices like we did. Good luck to you!

Thank you. With our options being him alone or travel out of state, I think we do what he wants... Lol

I do not want to drive 5+ hours to get him 2 MMR's and a flu shot :P

He can't get 2 MMRs at the same time. It sounds like he needs two more in his series, but USCIS will accept that you have had the first given, and that there is an insufficient interval for the next doses. Also, if when the file is adjudicated it is not flu season, or if it was not flu season when he had his medical, he will not need a flu shot. I think chances are good that you don't need to see a CS at all.

AOS for my husband

I think the doctor will realize it is not needed when I show him the instructions... I HOPE!

Section III, 2, C, 2 of the instructions for form I693 have stated it is not needed.

Ditto to this. It sounds to me from your post that you don't need to see a CS

If your DS-3025 says that the medical history is complete, then you don't need the I-693; however, there have been some who have received an RFE because the I693 was not attached to the AOS and many who were approved without it. Good Luck!

Incorrect. The form almost ALWAYS says "incomplete". Whether you need the I-693 or not depends on whether the SHOTS are complete at the K1 medical (even though the DS-3025 won't say it).
