Hello VJ'ers I have a friend that is married to a Ghanian. After they were married he shared with her that he have had an interview with the Embassey about 2yrs ago. But he was applying for a work visa but was denied because he didn't know alot of information about the job that he was intending to do in the U.S.

After being denied and fingerprinted at the embassey, he has changed his name to his christian name. the type of job he put on the paperwork is not the job he is actually doing. The wife have applied for a cr1 visa for him. Do you all think he will have a problem at the interview and will they bring up the change of name and the type of job he is working. they haven't gotten there interview date as of now.

thanks

Definitely yes, he will be questioned about his previous attempt, change of name and he will be questioned about if the relation is genuine or just for the immigration purpose.

Ghana is on high fraud list and especially with a case where there was previous denial and change of name it raises all the question of fraud.

WOW. Me and Her was talking and she is thinking the same thing. so do you think they will eventually let him come to the U.s. She is now thinking rather or not when the time comes if she will go an attend his interview, because she don't want to be questioned about something she don't know about...

We are all predicting, and i think if his name had not changed, he would have no problem, but the name change might make them think he is doing that for immigration purposes. But still all is about explaining why he did that. They are humans like us .

Does he have documentations in regard to the change of name? Did he disclose on the immigration forms his previous name(s)? If he did not disclose his previous name(s) on the immigration (application) forms he is in for trouble and possibly inviting a permanent ban. Time to consult a lawyer if he answered no on any of the forms when asked if he has ever used a different name other than the current name.
