Two questions regarding facebook and Skype logs.

1.) Is it ok to chose several facebook messages/chat logs over a long period of time (from the start of our relationship until present) or is it necessary to include ALL logs?

2.) How important is it to translate to English content of said logs? Is it more important to show that we have communicated on a regular basis or the actual content?

you dont need all of them. select a bit from everything with dates on them and names. and if its not in english theres a low chance they'll even check it. you can translate them if its not too much work. they read some of my skype/messenger conversations. few lines maybe. they mostly looked at the dates

That's what I would think - are they really interested in the content or the fact that you are indeed in constant contact?

Can someone clear this out?

Do we need to translate Skype logs?

I read somewhere that all docs in langauge other than english should be translated but I think that is referring to legal docs such as divorce papers etc.

I assume you are referring to the interview, not the original petition, which does not require anything other than proof of a meeting.

In my case, we printed out the following for her interview:

1) About 70 emails.

2) Skype logs, but only the duration of video calls (ie. I deleted the bits of text message throughout). This was about 10 pages.

3) Phone records (calling card info from her).

The CO glanced at the emails, appeared to pay no attention to the other two pieces, and handed it all back to her after informing her that he would taking her passport and approving the visa because he had concluded it was a legitimate relationship.

All our written communication was in English, so I can't speak to the need for translation.

Bear in mind, my account applies only to the CO who interviewed my fiance at her embassy, YMMV.
