Hey Everyone,

We had our interview on Jan. 18, 2011, and everything went fine during the interview. The interviewer then asked if my wife had gotten her vaccinations here in the U.S., we said no, she had done them in Syria. Anyways, a long story short, my wife ended up getting her shots transcribed here by another Civil Surgeon, and I went to the LA office to submit the sealed envelop. I was told I can mail it in or just come in person to drop it off. So, I decided to drop it off, when I went, there was like nobody there it was around 11:30 a.m., I guess long lunch break. Then somebody came out from behind, and I told her this needs to be given to the interviewer person. The lady said she would put it on her desk, so I gave it to her and left.

It has been almost a month since that time, and I haven't heard anything, no updates on my case, nothing. I'm wondering is this normal? At the interview the lady, was very nice and just looked at our wedding pictures, and then said to just get the vaccinations done here in the U.S. (although they were already done in Syria, and she had the proof in that big packet in front of her, but she was being stubborn, and I didn't want to argue with her). Anyways, I'm just getting a little anxious, why does it take so long . Any suggestions, on what I should do?

Thanks

Hope for a speedy decision... we had the exact same thing happen - we had our interview on 2/1 in LA and were told in the 'interview' that we needed to get my husband's vaccine records transcribed. Did so that very same day and dropped the form off on 2/2 around lunchtime. The interviewer was available and my husband chatted with him, he took the form, wanted to call the doctor who did the transcribing - but all was fine.. green card was in hand in just a few days :-/

I wish I knew why your situation was taking so long... I'm hoping someone else might be able to advise you if there is anyone else you can follow up with? That seems like a super long time -
