My husband received his approval letter on December 1,2011.... now we're being told that his case is in "Internal Administrative process" that is mandatory and can't be checked on the embassy website and they still have his passport? Can anyone tell me what I should do now? Was he approved? I have the letter they gave him..... I don't understand................................... :(

Hes in AP - if he was approved he would of picked up his passport with visa stamped inside it.

You just have to wait until they finish the AP which is more or less whenever they feel like it, then you will find out if they approve it or not.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Seems like it - unless the letter states that he is in mandatory AP for his country. But still.. during AP they can still deny the visa.

My husband sent me this letter after his interview... I just copy/pasted from my documents... the seal from the letter wouldn't copy... is this what they give you when you are going into AP?

Congratulations! Your immigrant visa has been approved by the consular officer and it

should be processed within a week of your interview date. However, keep in mind that

the process may take longer. As such, please do not make any travel arrangements or

plans until you actually receive the visa. Please take the ticket attached to this letter to

the Aramex courier services desk within the Embassy and they will make arrangements

to deliver your visa when it is ready.

Your passport, along with a sealed envelope containing the required documents that were

used to process your visa, will be delivered to you by Aramex to the address that you

provide to them. The sealed envelope that accompanies your passport should not be

opened or damaged. It must be hand-carried with you when you travel to the United

States and handed to U.S. immigration personnel at the port of entry.

When you receiveyo{;.r visa and sealed envelcpe from Namex, ple~~be sure that you

read and adhere to the red printed instructions t~'i the envelope. .

Hi TF-13... thank you. I just got off the phone with a woman from DOS... the first person there that actually took the time to explain exactly what happens in these types of situations. She said...1. First realize the letter you got says his visa may take longer to process...I can't give you a time line...or specifics as to what is happening... but the general info may help you with your wait. She said...there are many terms used for the AP... they are all the same. Its simply Processing... which means... that the embassy has to do checks at various agencies...and the time is consumed in waiting for response from these agencies...but the embassy does try and push to have these checks done within a reasonable time...that's why each embassy puts a (general) timeline on their site for you... For you... this AP is for your husband... it is not in DC...it is at the embassy... so it is internal and mandatory... (which the embassy has written and told me) She said...my computer shows that your case has activity...so these checks are being done... and so far everything is ok on his checks. She said... you can call back here everyday if you like to see if we have any new information to give you. She said every case is different... some take days... some weeks... some months...and in rare cases... some can take years...and this is why we can never tell a person...you will get your visa in 5 days or 2 weeks...or 3 months. So if I am correct.... unless something bad comes up about my husband... it's just waiting for them to finish these checks.

I ask my husband what he wanted me to do.... because being separated is very hard.... and we have been separated since November of 2010...right after we got married. And I have a new job and really with the economy the way it is... I would be afraid of losing my job if I decided to jump on a plane for Jordan now...this would not be wise...and I am not eligible for vacation till July... so we are going to give it a couple more months... hopefully this will be over before then... if not we will talk about me going there for a visit. I started this visa process last March... so it's been almost a year since this all began... but my husband is asking me to be strong...and try and keep my hope up that his checks will be over soon. He's amazing because he is not worried at all... he said... I don't even have a police record.. has never been in trouble...he did study in Tunisia and has traveled to Syria because he has family there and the shopping is cheaper... Other than that... he has just lived his life in Jordan... and worked in his father's business... really....we have done all we can at this point.

So anyone who is having this problem with AP.... find out who the AP is on... and if it's in DC or internal at the embassy... this may calm you while waiting...I just love my husband so much... because he is being amazingly strong for me in all this...
