My fiance and I met via a Christian dating site and we chat everyday on facebook and talk on the phone whenever we can but we did not video chat too often because of the conflicts on our schedules. She work for a call center with an American account and works at night (which is morning in the US) and I work on 2nd shift (3pm to 11Pm). She also works on the weekends so we really don't have a lot of time to have video conversations. Are video conversations very important proof of the on going relationship? Will we still be approved even if we only had a few?

Everyione uses something different to keep in touch with the one they love far away. As long as you can get a log of your calls you will be fine.

We use Skype and google voice (its free), for the video calls on Skype I do screen shots and print them out from time to time. Skype is our main source as we enjoy seeing each other.

Do you email one another on a regular basis? That would also show an ongoing relationship as well, especially if you're like most of us and have a gazillion of them going back and forth over a period of time. :D

You have not mentioned the most important thing reguardless of how often you both communicate. You still need to meet each other in person at least 1 time in a 2 year period.

You NEED to generate all sorts of evidence, even if you don't normally do it. Emails, letters, gift receipts, photos, everything all put together should tell your story to a stranger; they will not just take your word for it. You must show to a stranger, the CO, that your relationship is as normal as you can via long distance. I suggest you start using other mediums in which to communicate and generate that evdience.

My boyfriend and I use Google Talk alot, every night in fact. He calls me from his cell phone using it. My question is- it does not show up on my phone bill, or his phone bills since it is free. The number comes up as Google's office. Has anyone used Google Talk as evidence and how do they show those call logs?

Please let me know how you used these. Thank you for your help!

I wouldn'r even know how to submit Video chat - but I'm not worried because we do not use it.

For proof of ongoing relationship we will provide:

-boarding passes of my trips to see him

-passport stamps

-photos

-Skype logs (you can download Skype Historian and it converts your messages to a document to print out)

-Long Distance cell phone records (his and mine)

-Detailed billing of text messages (his and mine)

-Few emails if any

-Some postcards/mailed letters/envelopes

All that is enough :)
