Coming from a poster who excreted post after post of angst and personal attacks over information regarding alleged Constitutional violations by the NYPD NOT in the OP, I think I can also take your dire warning in a similar vein. Which is to say, no I am NOT worried I will one day come under the microscope and it will be 'too late.'

"the report cited no evidence of terrorism or criminal behavior"...but was meant to instead be "a guide to Newark's Muslims"

This is ridiculous. Seriously sick and twisted minds came up with this idea. I like the use of the term, "aggressive counter-surveillance," for when someone noticed one of the agents. The Keystone Kops do intelligence work. These guys should work as restaurant critics because as intelligence officers these guys suck. Gawker did a writeup on this where they used the dossiers to make up Zagat style restaurant reviews. Which is basically more useful than using them for any kind of real fact finding or investigation.

I think New York specifically has suffered tremendously from Muslim terrorist, so I'm glad they are doing their job now.

sounds like good police work to me. monitoring of public events or forums is not a violation of civil rights. it is in line with the expectation for privacy (nonexistent) in the surveiled environment.
