I am a green card holder and I am about to apply for my US citizenship later this year. I have a sales consulting company and me and my business partner are invited by one of the companies in the middle east to train their local business on sales and marketing. The overseas company will be sponsoring our business visit visa and we will be living overseas for 5 days only before we return to the US.

My question is -

1. Is it ok to travel to a middle eastern country with a permanent resident status?

2. Will having a middle east country visa stamp on my passport have any impact on my citizenship application paperwork?

We have all the legal documents and the agreement between our local US based company and middle east company is also structured accordingly to the laws of the US.

Appreciate your help and response.

Thanks

Sak

I am a US citizen who lives in the Middle East, so I don't have experience traveling around here a permanent resident, but:

1. You'll won't be traveling with a USA passport, so the country you are traveling to will basically just be making sure: a.) that you have not traveled to Israel/Occupied Palestine (depending on the country) and b.) that you have the correct requirements (visa, etc) to enter the country. I really doubt they will care that you are permanent resident of the USA. I do have a Canadian friend who is a permanent resident of the USA, but lives in the same country as me, and she has never had any problems traveling around.

2. No experience here, but I highly doubt this would give you trouble.

Enjoy your trip!

I would hope not (#2). Since my wife's immigrant visa was issued in Riyadh LOL

Yeah, agreed! If that were the case, my husband's going to have a hell of time getting his green card, as we have traveled extensively around the Middle East.

OP, unless there is some other red flag that makes you traveling to the Middle East look suspicious, I think you can relax.
