Wow Lynn you had a hard night last night on VJ....hope you are better. You are an adult and you are married. Be happy and make the best of the family....but dont let anyone tell you whom you can or cannot fall in love with!!! :star:

Thank you!! and I am sure many will say the same of my husband 20 yr younger. I know when people meet him they will see what a great person he is reguardless age/race

Bless your heart, those were some really harsh things for his mom to say, I cringed reading the words. I hope you have a very happy, wonderful marraige!

I am the only child between my mom & dad (both dead for yrs), I have 14 half brothers/sisters that are 10 to 22 yrs older than me and all have opinions but most know and are accepting, some with open arms. I have never married but found myself in love and knew I never wanted anyone else in life so I finally said yes to him. I made a good choice and I hope my eldest sister takes the opportunity to welcome a most wonderful addition to the family

In the end I could care less what his mother, or anyone else for that matter, has to say. I AM IN LOVE WITH MY HUSBAND AND HE LOVES ME. That is all I care about. I have always tried to live my life by the motto that life is too short to have anyone in it that doesn't make you happy!!

Just keep yourself focused on you and your husband and try to forget about what other people say. There will always be someone who doesn't agree with you or like what you do - let that be their problem, not yours!

29 Apr 2011 - Case entered into the system/Case number assigned; Medical Exam in Sydney

30 Apr 2011 - Police Check Application sent

2 May 2011 - Called NVC and got Invoice ID number

3 May 2011 - Sent DS-3032 email

4 May 2011 - Received email reply from NVC for DS-3032; Received Medical Exam results

5 May 2011 - AOS invoiced and paid

7 May 2011 - AOS package sent; IV invoiced and paid

9 May 2011 - AOS package delivered to NVC according to tracking

20 May 2011 - RFE for missing IV package....still waiting on Police Certificate!

24 May 2011 - Received Police Certificate after 25 days (so much for 7-10!); IV package sent

27 May 2011 - IV package delivered according to tracking

8 Jun 2011 - RFE for original marriage certificate; requested supervisor review since we KNOW it was in the package!

30 Jun 2011 - SIF and CC - FINALLY!!!!

13 Jul 2011 - Interview date assigned! Scheduled for August 9th @ 10am

9 Aug 2011 - Interview - APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12 Aug 2011 - Visa in hand

You are going to need luck, don't kid yourself. Women marrying substantially younger men from MENA countries is a huge red flag. If you say you're in love, that's great, I don't disbelieve you, but then, my job isn't on the line here. The CO who does the interview, that's who you have to convince.

Bury them in paperwork, e-mails, pictures, etc. It's not nearly as bad as people say it is. Lots of May/December relationships even in the MENA countries, so not really a huge issue. Be prepared. Luck is for rabbits, be prepared and everything will be fine.good.gifgood.gifgood.gif

prior to you getting married, there was a family dynamic that all understood, regardless of the stuff.

now yer married, and THIS FACT, regardless of anything else, should upset the family dynamic a bit.

sometimes it's just called an adjusting period, sometimes a spouse is gently introduced over time -

but -

IMO (worth every 2 RMB I paid for it, btw) you've upset yer family dynamic in a big way. It'll take time to recover, but there's more stuff to go down prior to full acceptance.

Good luck to you - you've a hard path in front of you.
